365 Brooches
08/08/09 - Found Material (lint collected from the washing machine) and stainless steelThe HCJ Project is all about "Handmade Contemporary Jewellery" and building somewhere for the discussion and discovery of contemporary jewellery and small object art.

As the project administrator I spend more time than most exploring the pathways which lead out from the site.
These "pathways" usually lead somewhere I already know: but as more "site friends" join the project I stumble on sites and blogs which I haven't previously seen.
I thought I'd post some of these "finds" so more people can discover them.

Zoe BrandThese images come from a blog I discovered for the first time through the "site friend profile" of Phyo Zar Thwin.

Zoe has taken the rather narcissistic trend of 365 days (a Flick phenomenon) and given it a neat, creative, jewellery related twist.

I don't know how or if Phyo Zar Thwin is connected with Zoe Brand. Probably not at all, as blogs Phyo Zar Thwin "follows" are displayed as "Sites I've joined" in Phyo's site friend profile (unless of course they choose not to show them).

Zoe Brand says of her 365 brooches project ....

"365 Brooches - Inspired by some crafty people, I have decided to create my own '365 project', essentially making a brooch a day for one year. This project will be used as a means of exploring ideas, processes and found materials that I have collected, nay hoarded over the years. I see these 'brooches' as quick 'sketches' of ideas rather than actual finished pieces, and as such they may only take a few minutes to make, but allow for the ideas in my head to become some form of a reality. They may not be pretty, they may not be practical and they may be something else entirely but they are a start, and what better place to begin than that."
