I received my BFA from Western Illinois University in 2004, and my MFA from the University of Iowa in 2008. I currently live in Iowa City, IA where I continue to make work. I'm interested in both wearable and sculptural forms and have worked back and forth between the two for several years. As a result, my wearable pieces have become more sculptural and my sculptural pieces tend to reference the language of my jewelry.I enjoy working with eletroforming as well as fiberglass, and will use the two interchangeabley in any given piece. Color is very important to me as well as texture/surface. My pieces are always painted and may include resin to achieve various surfaces. I've also been using printing to bring in text, and add a forced scientific "authority" to the pieces. ![]() Pomum Fuchsin (2008), fiberglass, copper, resin, paint, felt, 5"x4"x4" (largest pendant dimension) ![]() Angeion Morphos, (2008), electroforming, fabrication, ink, paint, 10"x8"x14" Site: www.jillianmoore.net Blog: jillianmoore.blogspot.com HCJ: Site friend profile |
