I want to make jewels that live ….
Harriete Estel Berman makes bracelets and beads from the discards of our consumer society recycled "tin" containers. In this dramatic and colorful jewelry, the colors, the patterns, and the words taken from post consumer materials symbolize our personal search for identity in our material culture.
I am an
Norwegian professional
artist and
designer that live and work in
Oslo, Norway. Educated as an jewelry artist at the Oslo National
Academy of
the Arts, I also work with design, graphic and web design, objects
and serigraphy. Recently I have taken a class in Processing and will
use this as a tool in creating jewelry and art projects. I have also
been doing some teaching at the Oslo National Academy of the Arts and
work regulary for the Association of Norwegian Sculptors.

I work in different materials. I like to a research in the inherent qualities of materials precious as well as non-precious. Sometimes create new compositions of materials.
